October 4, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta
Clarence Robert (Bob) Fiell, beloved husband of Fran Fiell, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Bob was born in Calgary on January 23, 1935. He graduated from Crescent Heights High School and went on to work as an Electrical Planner with the City of Calgary for 35 years.
Bob loved football and played for the Junior Broncs in the 1950s. The friendships he made through football have lasted for over 60 years. He stayed involved with football as a referee for high school, bantam, junior, and university for 35 years, and received many acknowledgments for his contribution to the game of football over the years.
Bob rediscovered his love of art and painting after retirement, a pastime he enjoyed until his passing, commissioning many works for family and friends. His love of people led him to a part-time career in men’s clothing, where he continued to meet new people and form close friendships. Bob loved to be with his family and friends and was always ready to share an entertaining story about his upbringing in Riverside or family vacations. He made a point to always stay in touch with those closest to him, by phone or in person.
Bob will be remembered by his loving wife Fran, son Ron (Diane), daughter Theresa, and grandsons, Kyle and Ben; sisters, Joan and Connie; brother Terry; sister-in-law Eileen; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his brothers, John and Andy.
Bob was a very kind, gentle and giving man who will be remembered for his love of life, family and friends and his collection of colorful sweaters.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
