Obituary of Eileen Margaret Hardwick

October 21, 2021 – Calgary, AB

Eileen Hardwick (nee Willar), of Calgary, AB passed away on October 21, 2021 at the age of 97 years.

Eileen was born in Bishop Falls, NL on May 10, 1924. She moved to Toronto at the tender age of 18. Eileen married Cyril Hardwick in 1952 and spent many happy years there.  Upon Cyril’s passing, Eileen moved to Calgary in 2005 to be closer to her only grandchildren. She was a member of the Canadian Legion for many years in Calgary, where she met her “gentleman friend” Don. Eileen and Don spent many years dancing up a storm. She will be most remembered for her determination and her willingness to tackle anything. We will also miss her wry sense of humour!  If you hear footsteps above your head, Eileen is likely dancing!

Eileen is survived by her one daughter Gail and her husband Paul, both of Calgary. She is also survived by her son Michael, who resides in Toronto.  Eileen will be sorely missed by her granddaughter Alison (Marc) and her grandson Joe (Sarah), all of Calgary. As well as her special second daughter Tracey. Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Cyril Hardwick, as well as her three brothers, Mac, Ray and Bill.
