Obituary of Antonietta (Toni) Menchini

December 6, 1941 – Antraccoli, Lucca, Italy
October 22, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Antonietta (Toni) Menchini beloved wife of Benito Menchini of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

Antonietta immigrated to Canada and settled in Calgary to start her family and her career. She spent her free time camping, hunting, and fishing but also so enjoyed her garden. Her greatest joys came from her grandson which she adored, as well as visiting with her many dear friends. Her most memorable excursions were of travelling back to Italy to visit family. She will be most remembered for her incredible strength and perseverance, as well as her endless love and generosity.

Besides her loving husband Benito, Toni is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brunetta and Egisto Mariani of Vermilion, AB, grandson Stefano Mariani of Calgary, AB; brothers, Piero and his wife Graziella; as well as numerous nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.

Toni was predeceased by her mother and father, Otella and Ugo; and her brothers, Adolfo and Raffelo.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a maximum of 50 attendees. If you wish to attend please RSVP with the family.  Entombment to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.  Reception to follow at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) Those attending the reception will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption AND valid government identification (with name & date of birth) OR (D) Under 12 years of age.
