Obituary of Lauren Gay Arsenault

April 30, 1947 – Flin Flon, Manitoba

October 24, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that Michael and I announce the passing of our mom Lauren “Laurie” Arsenault (nee Bottrell) on October 24, 2021 at the age of 74 years.

Laurie was born on April 30, 1947, in Flin Flon, MB, where she was raised. In 1978 Laurie moved to Calgary, AB to raise her family. It was there that she found her life calling with Alcoholics Anonymous. Laurie spent 41 years doing service work with the program helping people fight their addictions. These people became her family and through the years, that family grew and grew. She touched many lives and in turn, they saved hers. For that, she and her family will be eternally grateful.

Left to celebrate her life is her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Jim Inglis; her children Michael, and Lisa Arsenault and Jeff Kean; her superhero Kris Misurko; the amazing people she met through AA; and lastly, the loves of her life, her grandchildren Jane, Ruth, Malcolm and Michael. Laurie was predeceased by her parents William and Vivian Bottrell; her brother David (Heida) Bottrell; and sister Sally (Larry) Pearson.

An open Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Balzac Community Hall (10075, TWP Road 262 Balzac) starting at 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption AND valid government identification (with name & date of birth) OR (D) Under 12 years of age.
