Obituary of Lawrence (Lorne) Turner

Lawrence Turner beloved husband of Helen Turner (nee Yohemas) of Rocky View County, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

 

Lawrence, known by his friends and family as Lorne, was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on July 14, 1938. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters in Applied Science; and was employed as a geological engineer in the oil and gas industry. His work took him to places all over the world. 

 

Lorne married Helen in 1963, and together they raised a beautiful family. Lorne accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren.

 

While work took him all over, Lorne loved being on his acreage and his yearly hunting trips.

 

Besides his loving wife, Lorne is survived by his three daughters and three sons-in-law, Angie Turner (Jim), Cathy Stotschek (Ralph), and Jackie MacPherson (Sean). He had three grandchildren, Douglas, Griffin, and John. He also had five step-grandchildren, Shannon, Samantha, Dustin, Logan, and Keegan. Lorne is also survived by brother Dave (Joanne) and sister-in-law Sheila as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and step-great-grandchildren. Lorne was predeceased by his parents Grace and Harvey Turner and his brother Ron.
