Obituary of Angela Josephine Willis (nee Fitzpatrick)

Angela Willis of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

 

Angela was born in Deloraine, MB on October 7, 1932. She moved to Flin Flon, MB to begin her career as a teacher. In 1956, Angela married Jack Willis. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for 55 years and volunteered with numerous activities with the Catholic Church.  Angela accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her six children, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Angela developed a passion for painting later in life, and her memories will live on through the paintings hanging on the walls of her family and friends. Angela’s most memorable vacation was a trip to Calgary in the early 1970s, and trips to Sweden, Spain and Hawaii.

 

Angela is survived by her two daughters and two sons-in-law, Laura and Rob Linnick of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Dorothy and Mark Johnston of Cranberry Portage, MB; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert Willis of Red Deer, AB, Ken and Bev Willis of Calgary, AB, David and Colleen Willis of Woodinville, Washington, and Chris and Tracey Willis of Kimberley, BC; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth Willis, John Willis, Daniel Willis, Jocelyn Willis, Jordan Willis, Kristen Willis, Madison Willis, Carson Linnick, Sydney Linnick, Dylan Johnston, and Ethan Johnston; and one great-grandchild, Bowen Peng.

 

Angela is also survived by her brother Bernie Fitzpatrick and his wife Helen Fitzpatrick of Prince George, BC; and her sister Marlene Scoville and her husband Wayne Scoville of Prince George, BC. Angela was predeceased by her husband Jack Willis, and by her brothers, Raymond and Danny (survived by Myrt Fitzpatrick); and her sister Evelyn.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
