Condolences
I was fortunate to have known Barb through art history courses at University of Calgary during the 1980s. I cherished her friendship and I am sad to hear of her passing. I will always remember her kindness.
Remembering Barbara
Dear Don, Stephanie, Christine and Cameron,
The beautiful photograph of Barbara captures the ‘Barb’ I knew. We have known each other for years as we started out in our professional lives in Calgary in the early 70’s.
This was an outstanding community of friends and acquaintances new to the West who met and lived in a charming townhouse development and shared playgrounds, sandboxes and playtimes with our toddlers. Life moved on and each of us contributed to the Calgary community we loved and now called home. Barbara’s endeavors are noted in the many interests she shared her skills. The children grew up; attending STS, University, and their careers took them international. They have now assumed the mantle of successful members of Calgary society. After business transfers to the USA, friendships were rekindled on my return. Our ladies luncheons were ‘an event’. Each of us in turn sharing our homes with our own ‘sorority’ of dynamic women; delicious dining and delightful chats keeping us current in interesting family news. These were memorable times I will cherish.
My deepest condolences and ‘may her memory be a blessing’.
