It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. Marcus Joseph Travadi, beloved husband of Gladys Travadi (nee Theys) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at the age of 90 years.

Marcus was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on June 16, 1931, to parents Charles and Effelia Travadi. After some time, he immigrated to Canada in 1966. He met and married the love of his life, Gladys in 1957. Marcus was a beautiful, creative soul and an overall remarkable human being. He showed us how to be leaders and to have compassion. He was full of wisdom and displayed strength throughout his life.  Marcus was a man of many hats; gardening, cooking, and traveling were just a few of his hobbies. He was fortunate enough to travel extensively, to experience Africa, Europe, and the Northwest Territories. Marcus accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his family. He will be missed and never forgotten.

Besides his loving wife, Marcus is survived by his son, Mark; two daughters, Lauren (Paul McEachen) and Maxine (John Post) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Lucas, Audrey, Lennon, Jessica, Rebecca, Robin, Katie, and Jennica; great-grandchildren, Shay, Havannah, Mikayla, Denzel, Ledane and Nya. Marcus is also survived by his sister, Molly, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marcus was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Effelia; sons, John, and Basil; sisters, Evelyn, Nicky, and Katie; brothers, Charles, and Basil.

Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 20, 2021, starting at 10 am. Graveside Service to follow on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Queens Park Cemetery at 2pm. A map to the gravesite will be placed at the funeral home and can be picked up on the day of the funeral. Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption AND valid government identification (with name & date of birth) OR (D) Under 12 years of age.
