Obituary of Carrie Joy Elliott

January 24, 1974 – Banff, Alberta
November 5, 2021 – Sundre, Alberta

It was on Friday, November 5, 2021 that Carrie Joy Elliott laid down to rest at 47 years young. 

Carrie was born in Banff, Alberta, and was the youngest of two children born to Ann Holuk. Carrie Joy spent her childhood growing up in the family hometown of Canmore, Alberta, where she loved the mountains and especially the streams and waterfalls that flowed from them. (She couldn’t pass one without cupping her hands and drinking from them). Carrie eventually moved to the small town of Didsbury, Alberta, where she and Darren raised two beautiful daughters, Alecia Ann and Shaylene Kendra. 

Carrie had a love for gardens, flowers, and plants which showed as her home, yard, and life were always decorated with them. It wasn’t long before Carrie’s oldest daughter, Alecia, gave birth to Carrie’s first grandchild, Layla Susanne Barker, making Carrie one proud grandma! Lo and behold, two years later Carries youngest daughter, Shaylene, brought Carrie’s second grandchild, Kashton McCauley, into the world and made Carrie so proud once again. Sadly, a short time later, Carrie Joy took her last breath as she was passing through Sundre, Alberta. 

Carrie will be really missed and will be survived by her daughters, Alecia Ann McCauley and Shaylene Kendra McCauley; mother Ann Holuk; grandchildren, Layla Susanne Barker and Kashton McCauley; grandmother Hannah McGleish; sister Sonya Elliott, and brother Ken Elliott. Carrie’s one of a kind gentle smile will be hugely missed by so many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We LOVE you and will always remember you Carrie Joy…… especially the little girl in you.
