Rosa Almasch, beloved mother and oma, was called to Heaven on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

Rosa grew up in Yugoslavia, met and married Adam in Austria on October 14, 1950. In 1953 they came to Canada. Rosa worked at many jobs in her life to help support her family. Rosa’s last job was at Sears in the cafeteria as a cook and she was known for her fantastic cabbage rolls. Her greatest joy was raising her family and looking after her grandchildren of whom she was very proud. She always has a smile on her face and sparkle in her eyes. Rosa loved being surrounded by family and she loved the outdoors, camping and fishing were always part of her and Adam’s life and they loved to include family and friends. She also loved to spend time outside in her garden which always looked spectacular.  Rosa was a devoted Catholic and had great faith in God. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Rosa is survived by her daughter Monica (Guy), granddaughter Heather (David), grandson Matthew, and great-grandson Quinn, who she was so excited to meet.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Anna Almasch, special niece Katharina Michels; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rosa was predeceased by her husband of fifty-eight years Adam and her son Adam Mathias.

Family will celebrate Rosa’s life privately with a mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Queen’s Park Cemetery with her late husband Adam.  Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
