Obituary of Donald Francis Hancock

July 21, 1934 – Islay Alberta

November 13, 2021 – Calgary Alberta

 

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Donald Francis Hancock passed away on November 13, 2021 at the age of 87 due to natural causes at home in Calgary, AB.

 

Don retired from Prudential Steel after a long career in the pipeline industry. Don and Fern enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and time with their family and friends, as well as spending their winters in Arizona and on Vancouver Island. He will lovingly be remembered for his favorite sayings “I will be holding down the fort” and “just giver”.

 

Don is survived by his loving wife, Isabel Fern Hancock; two daughters, Lori (Wade) Edwards and Tessa (Jim) Armstrong; and two grandchildren, Shelby Edwards and Bradley Armstrong.

 

Don was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Clarence Hancock; siblings, Gordon (Elva), Doreen (Al), Mac, Marion (Al), Neil (Gloria); and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on Fern’s side of the family. Don is also survived by his brother Ted (Audrey); three sisters-in-law, Bernice Hancock, Audrey Propp, and Sandra; Lee and numerous nieces and nephews.
