Obituary of Margaret Marquardt

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Marquardt of Calgary, Alberta, announce her passing on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the age of 77 years after struggling for many years with COPD.

Margaret was born in Brooks, Alberta, on July 8, 1944.  She was raised in Bassano, Alberta, until she moved to Calgary after high school.  She continued her education receiving a BA in Sociology in 1973 and a BComm in Accounting in 1979 from the University of Calgary. Margaret began her working career in the accounting field in the oil and gas industry and received her Certified Internal Auditor Designation in 1985. Some of Margaret’s most memorable times were working in volunteer positions for various organizations throughout the city of Calgary and within her home community in northwest Calgary.  

Margaret will be sadly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Colleen; nephew Robin (Leslee), and niece Tara.  She is also survived by her grandnephew Lincoln, and grandniece Ivy all residing in Calgary, Alberta. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth (Betty) Marquardt. 

A Private Funeral Service will be held. In honour of her wishes, she will be cremated and buried with her parents in Bassano.  Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
