Obituary of Joyce Ann Parsons (McKee Brown)

April 18, 1936 – Gilroy, California, USA

November 21, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

It’s with great sadness that we share the passing of Joyce Parsons of Calgary, AB, on November 21st, 2021.

Joyce will be remembered for the deep love and caring she bestowed on her family and friends, and for her truly meaningful contributions and impact at the Jubilee Christian Centre, as well as the young adults and couples she helped along in their journey. 

Joyce is survived by her husband and soul mate of 67 years Maury, her daughter Glenda (Randy), her sons, Craig (Shela) and Mark; Pat who was like a son to her, her grandchildren, Isaac, Jennifer (Casey), Josh (wife Ashley; children Wyatt, Jensen and Ainsley), Rachel (Colby), Chance, Cody and Renee; and her sisters, Donna Lee (Doug) and Penny (Bob).

Together, Joyce and Maury shared a love of travel and did their fair share of globetrotting through the years, visiting numerous countries. She, and her powerful presence, will be dearly missed, and her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of so many.

A service to honour Joyce’s life will be held at the Jubilee Christian Centre (458 35 Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2K) on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification AND one of the following: Provincial vaccine record); OR negative COVID test (within 72 hours); OR under 12 years of age. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Joyce’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
