GABRUCK

June 1, 1976 – Calgary, Alberta

November 22, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Brian Gabruck, beloved husband of Lisa Gabruck (nee Friesen) and dad to Kirsten, Victoria and Jailynne, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the age of 45 years.

Brian was born on June 1, 1976 and grew up in the Hamlet of Keoma. He graduated from Beiseker Community School in 1994. Brian went to SAIT and graduated with a certified Journeyman ticket in Heavy Duty Mechanics. He began his career working with Case at Beiseker Truck & Tractor. He was at Agro Equipment for a brief period of time. He moved back to Rocky Mountain Equipment - Balzac, as the Shop Foreman, then became the Service Manager and found his true passion in Agricultural Sales.

Brian and Lisa met through mutual friends in 1993 and were married in 2006. He and Lisa moved to Irricana in March of 2000 with their two older daughters, having Jailynne complete their family in 2012.

Brian was a long-standing fourth-generation member with the Keoma Lions Club. He was also an active volunteer with the Irricana 4-H Beef & Multi Club as a Sheep leader.

Brian accomplished much through his life. He achieved many sales goals and enjoyed the many sales reward trips for reaching those goals. He would visit his clients to make sure they were doing well with seeding and harvest, or just to say hi.

Brian was known for his love of his family, his generosity, kindness, and his sense of humor. He enjoyed having family and friends around. He was very proud to watch his children as they accomplished their goals. He was always checking in with the neighbors, saying hi and seeing if they needed any help. He could be found cooking on the barbecue or smoking his famous ribs for potlucks. He loved to go camping at Koocanusa and learned to wake surf. He loved having fires in his backyard with friends or gathering at the campfire with the "A" loopers.

Besides his loving wife Lisa, Brian is survived by his three daughters, Kirsten Gabruck (Stephanie) of Airdrie, Alberta; Victoria Gabruck (Brody) of Calgary, Alberta; and Jailynne Gabruck of Irricana, Alberta; his parents, Donald and Diane Gabruck of Keoma, Alberta; his brother, Daryl Gabruck (Julia) of Calgary, Alberta; his sister, Danielle Gabruck-Kaufmann (Charlie) of Fairview, Alberta; his in-laws, Pam and Dave Hoffert of Calgary, Alberta, and Tim Friesen of Palm Springs, California; his sister-in-law, Samantha Amanda Mykes (Jason) of Calgary, Alberta; and his sister-in-law Lauren Hoffert of Victoria, British Columbia. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and friends. Brian was predeceased by his four grandparents and two paternal uncles.
