Obituary of Grace Gladys Daniels

Grace Daniels (nee Onespot), beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Morley was called home by our Creator Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the age of 91 years.

Grace was very involved in her community; she was very active in Aboriginal Issues as an activist and worked hard both as an advisor and councillor. She took pride in her traditions, attending and participating in numerous Pow-wows, winning several of them. Grace was a leader and participated in numerous spiritual ceremonies, including the grand opening of the Alberta Children’s Hospital where she said the opening prayer. She was also a pipe carrier for all nations.

She enjoyed carving, beading, sewing and tanning. At the Calgary Stampede she took first place in the Art and Crafts Carving with one of her pieces. Grace enjoyed horseracing and won numerous trophies’ during her competitive years. She completed numerous Sundances and her piercing. 

Grace is survived by her children, Jenny (Gerald), Terry, David Jr. (Loretta), Teresa (Pedo), Candy, Cindy (Red), Deanna L (Homer) and Harlin; traditionally adopted daughters, Martha (Charlie) Letrendre, Georgina, Labelle; adopted son/nephew Daryl Thomas; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the extended families of the Soldier, Goodstonney, Onespots, Yellowmule, and Real Birds. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

Grace was predeceased by her father Edward Onespot, mother Georgie Onespot (nee Goodstoney); husband Dave Daniels; daughter Sheila R Molly CropWarede Wolf and son Warner “Larry” Daniels. 

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Grace and Dave Daniels (Morley, AB) on Sunday, November 28, 2021 and Monday, November 29, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Grace and Dave Daniels (Morley, AB) on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside Service to follow at GoodStoney-Soldier Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Grace’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
