Obituary of Dustin Verhaeghe

December 9, 1983 – Regina, Saskatchewan

November 25, 2021 – Lethbridge, Alberta

Dustin Verhaeghe of Lethbridge, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the age of 37 years.

Dustin was born in Regina, SK, on December 9, 1983, to parents Terry and Pauline Verhaeghe. He lived in a variety of places over the years; first moving to Saskatoon and then to Taber shortly thereafter.  Dustin spent most of his childhood in Taber, and then he moved to Lethbridge in Junior High.  Much of his adult life he remained in Lethbridge with small portions spent in Taber, Whitecourt, and Coalhurst, AB.

From a young age, Dustin had a love for the great outdoors whether it was camping, fishing, quadding, hunting or just going out for a walk or for some adventure. He participated in a variety of sports including volleyball, basketball, rugby and badminton.  Originally, he attended Lethbridge College, where he studied to become an electrician, but ultimately, he found his passion in the painting industry.  Dustin was dedicated, hardworking, and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He had an innate knack for fixing things and was always open to a challenge.  He cherished his moments spent with his two children, Macey and Blaze. 

Dustin is survived by his partner, Amanda; his two children, Macey and Blaze; his parents, Terry and Pauline; his two sisters, Charlotte (Mark) and Brooke (Daniel); his brother Martino (Deborah); his grandmother Phyllis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dustin was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Jeanne and Armand, and paternal grandfather, Andre.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age, as well as wear a mask.
