Deanna Cameron Dubuque of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 42 years.

 

Deanna was born in Edmonton, AB on September 20, 1979. She graduated from Royal Roads University, University of Calgary and University of Toronto with multiple academic accomplishments. She earned her Masters degree in Professional Communication, a Bachelors degree in Communication, and attained her diploma in graphic design. Deanna worked as the Public Affairs Specialist for the US State Department (2014-2021), at New University Television (NUTV) as Publicity & Promotions director (2011-2014), and she was a film representative for Fox, E1, Alliance & Walt Disney (2011-2014).

 

Deanna was a member of the University of Calgary Senate and The Banff Forum. She accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her IABC Gold Quill Award and her appointment to the USA Presidential Visit to Ottawa in 2016. Deanna had a passion for crossfit, spin classes, travelling, yoga, marathons, and painting. Her most favorite places were warm and sunny: traveling with her father Dale in Dubai and Egypt; with her partner Brant to their Florida vacation home and visiting the family cabin in Invermere. Her other favorite travels the last three years are Instagram documented at #adventuresofgage.

 

Besides her loving partner Brant, Deanna is survived by her loyal and supportive father Dale Cameron, mother Cecilia Todesco, both of Calgary, AB; siblings including her sister Hayley Todesco; and grandparents, Eileen Cameron, George and Esther Thompson.

 

A Celebration of Deanna’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. A reception is to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Those attending will be asked to adhere to Covid protocols by providing valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirmation of one of the following: (A) Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B) negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C) valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D) under 12 years of age.  Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Deanna’s Celebration of Life streamed live by clicking this link https://bcove.video/2ZB73Ii  on the day of the service.
