Obituary of Gwyneth Eleanor Blair

November 29, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Gwyneth Eleanor Blair, beloved wife of the late Douglas Blair, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

Gwyneth was born in Port Burwell Ontario on June 18, 1926. Her family moved to London Ontario shorty thereafter, where she lived until 2001.  She and her husband subsequently moved to Calgary to be closer to their grandchildren.

Gwyneth graduated from the St. Joseph’s Hospital nursing program in 1948 as a Registered Nurse. Most of her early career as a nurse was spent in the Operating Room.  She finished her Nursing career as a Nursing Home inspector for the Province of Ontario.

Gwyneth wed Douglas Blair in 1952 and had two sons.  They enjoyed 66 years of marriage before Doug passed away in 2018.

Gwyneth is survived by her two sons and their partners, Chris Blair and Lori Skirten of Calgary, and Tim Blair and Sheryl Blair (nee Jones); and her grandchildren, Taylor, Quinn, Derek and Rachel.
