It is with great sorrow we announce that Ronald (Ron) Douglas Emary, 64, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 after a brave battle against lung cancer. Ron was the pillar of his family. His strength, incredible work ethic, and moral code will live on through his wife, children, and those whose lives he has touched.

Ron was born in Meaford, ON, to Kathleen and Melville Emary on February 10, 1957. He was raised in the Crowsnest Pass and relocated to Calgary where he completed his high school and post-secondary education. He then went on to earn his journeyman red seal in sprinkler fitting in 1982.  Over the years, he became one of the most well respected and hard-working people in his trade. He proceeded to co-found Legacy Fire Protection in 2005. Afterward, Ron brought his expertise to other companies and eventually retired with Tech Sprinklers Ltd. Ron’s pride for his profession, impressive work ethic and drive to succeed all had a lasting impact on his family, as three of his sons soon followed in his footsteps as sprinkler fitters. His memory will be carried on by his children and Cindy, his wife whom he has known since childhood and married in 2008. Ron had a passion for the game of darts, love of good music, and traveling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to mourn Ron’s passing and celebrate his life are his wife of fifteen years, Cindy Emary; his mom Kathleen Shannon; his children, Christopher Emary, Michael (Shannon) Emary, David (Rachel) Emary, Paul Emary, Wayde (Heather) Putnam, and LiShelle (Terri) Trembath; his grandchildren, Dion Emary, Cody Emary, Ethan Putnam, Lou Trembath, Fisher Trembath, & Elara Putnam. Ron is also survived by his siblings, Lonny (Susan) Emary, Jim (Diane) Emary, Mel (Jane) Shannon, Pete (Tara) Emary, Denise Shannon, and Sherry Shannon.

He is predeceased by his father Melville Emary; brothers, Rick Emary, Jeff Emary, Noble Emary; his stepfather, Bill Shannon.
