Obituary of Edward (Ed) LeGeyt

Edward (Ed) Albert LeGeyt, beloved husband of the late Lorraine LeGeyt, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the age of 91 years. 

Born and raised in Calgary, Ed was the fifth and youngest son of Charles and Emily LeGeyt. Ed and Lorraine married on July 9, 1955 and they celebrated their 61st anniversary in 2016. Ed was a long-term telephone man, working over 30 years with Alberta Government Telephones. He loved his garden, music and especially his many friends and family. 

He was a loving father to Leslie MacDonald (Don), Shelley Blackall (O’Brian), Melanie LeGeyt, and Nicole Eisner (Dennis). Ed was a proud grandfather and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Niall, Erin, Stephanie, Brittany, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Logan, Alyssa, Digney and Ty, his thirteen great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Laurine. Edward was predeceased by his wife Lorraine, parents, Charles and Emily LeGeyt, and his four brothers Reg, Phil, Tommy, and Chuck.

A Family Celebration of Edward’s Life will be held at a later date.
