Condolences
I don't know what made me think of Mr. Sapieha today. I'm incredibly sorry to hear of his passing and send my thought and blessings to his wife and family. Being a recent widow, myself, I believe I understand such a loss.
He was my Social Studies teacher in the early 80s. Always one of my lifetime favorites. He was incredibly kind and had a way to bring out the best in you and help you to recognize your own capabilities and find your self esteem. What a wonderful presence he was on this earth. May God hold him forever in His loving light and may his wife always be comforted by friends, family and fond memories. ❤️
Still in my heart and thoughts.
God bless you Maria. Thinking of you often.
It is touching, and telling, how many students from past decades have come to give tribute and state how their lives were affected by my brother the teacher.
Sorry about being late on sending this, but I just heard about Murray's passing today. Unfortunately, although we lived only a few houses apart and shared many great memories through high school and university in Edmonton, we gradually grew apart over the past 10 years living in different cities. I will definitely cherish the happy times we had as Murray was and always will be a wonderful person and friend. I'll crank up his favourite song tonight and raise a glass in his name. All the best to Maria.

We were saddened to hear of Murray's passing. He was one of the kindest and warm hearted people we have had the pleasure to know. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Maria, his brothers and family and all those whose lives he has touched.

Dear Maria and Family,
My sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved Murray.
Treasure the memories you made and keep them close to your heart.
May the love you shared give you strength in the coming days.
(Murray and John will now be together, sharing retirement on the other side).
Sending you love and hugs

For myself, my sister and our parents, Mr. Sapieha was the most memorable and impactful teacher during our time as junior high students at St. Cyril (‘91-‘94 and ‘99-‘02). Our most heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends.
Cara, Emily, Melanie and Terry Fedick
I was a student at St. Cyril from 1986 to 1989. Throughout my entire grade school and post-secondary education, I don't know if I've ever come across another teacher with more energy, enthusiasm, and love for his students than Mr. Sapieha. Although Mrs. Rauch - teaching right across the hallway from him was very, very close. Perhaps that close proximity compounded their positivity, and love of helping and bettering others - I know each had a profound and lasting impact on many, many students.
It is sad to hear of his passing - people who have given as he has, should be guaranteed to make it to at least 100!
Cheers to You Mr. Sapieha. When we think of you, we smile. Thank you for that too. :)

Mr. Sapieha was the teacher I remember the most from St. Cyril. He was kind, really funny, and made learning fun. He was very comfortable in his own skin, and improved my confidence as a person. Junior High is a tough time for many, Mr. Sapieha made it easier. He had the respect of all my classmates. I was so sorry to hear of his passing.
Condolences to the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mr. Sapieha was a thoughtful, intelligent, kind, and encouraging teacher that I (and every St Cyril student I know) will never forget. His dedication to cultivating belief in each of us as critical thinkers, entrepreneurs, creative problem solvers and organized learners had a huge impact on me, and his remarkable spirit and personality was truly a gift to know. My heart is with Mrs. Sapieha and your family as you go through this time of loss and I send you prayers of peace.
A profound influence on me. His classes instilled a lifelong love of history and politics. The best teacher I ever had. I’m very sorry to hear that he’s left us.
To Maria and extended family. We wish to express our deepest condolences.
Maria, we will never forget our yearly Stage West get togethers. We always looked forward to seeing you both and for all the laughs. Murray was such a good man and we will always treasure these memories. May he rest in peace!
Love always from your friends,
Toni, Frank and Family
Dear Maria,
I am so sorry to hear of Murray’s passing. I know the bond that the two of you shared was so strong. May God welcome him home, and may the angels rejoice in his social studies class in heaven. Am thinking of you, and know Mother Mary will comfort you.❤️

Mr Sapieha, I will never forget your class. Thank you for teaching us about the polar bears, the pygmies, ect. But thank you for being so compassionate and calm. You were such a good teacher because you cared about us. I (and many other kids that grew up in Cedarbre) will never forget your classroom. I have met ppl as an adult and learned that we both attended st. Cyrillic, and we both bonded over the memory of Mr. Sapieha's classes. ♡
Sincere condolences to Maria and family on behalf of Kathie and myself. Kathie has fond memories of the love that Murray’s students had for him and I was fortunate to attend his wonderful Remembrance Day celebrations that he took so much pride in. We are so sorry for your loss…

Dear Maria
I am very saddened to hear about Murray. I met him in my first year of teaching and received a warm welcome and much support throughout the year. We had a good many chats and he spoke of you with much love. And then, I began working with you and I felt like I already knew you for a long time. Murray was a true gentleman, mentor and just an all round great guy. His spirit will soar forever! Sending you prayers, hugs and much love.
