Condolences
I can’t help but think of all the people that avoided injury or worse thanks to Mike’s advocacy for a robust safety culture. At the same time, he was an immensely funny and irreverent colleague. We’ll done friend.
Sending heartfelt condolences. Mike was a great person to work with and learn from, a good friend and sounding board (who always made the time respond and and with his own special twist on the situations)! Our work talks would just become talks and i greatly appreciated and enjoyed the face to face time he’d make when i traveled to Naperville.
Gone in body, remaining in spirit and not forgotten - Rest In Peace my friend and wishing God’s continued strength to the family.
Mike and I worked for years together at Amoco/BP. I'll forever remember when my wife broke her ankle in a fall at home while I was away (as usual) on the road. Mike and Sue jumped in and helped her until I was able to get home. I'll always appreciate their selfless kindness. I'll also always remember Mike's refreshing dry wit. He could always see the amusing side of whatever situation arose.
Mike was a good person of unmatched integrity and compassion with strong opinions. Working with Mike over the years at both Amoco and BP was such a pleasure. But beyond work Mike was a great friend. While I was in rehab from a stroke Mike was the first to visit me in the hospital. After I retired he would stop by to check in and see how I was doing. We would talk for hours. I have fond recollections of Mary and I attending company Christmas parties with Mike and Sue where we would have our own party within a party. Great times. I recall a business trip to Texas years ago where Mike was responsible for renting the car at the airport to get us to a meeting. Mike loved PT Cruisers, which are small cars. After cramming three large people and Mike into that car we looked like a Schriners clown car looking for the parade. I will miss Mikes sense of humor and his fellowship. I believe that God calls you to heaven at a time that is best for you. So despite the overwhelming feeling of loss, I am overjoyed that Mike is in Heaven with God. Mike you and Sue will always be in my prayers but please keep me in your prayers.

Sending our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Susan, Caitlin and Cory on the loss of Mike. He is gone too soon, but will never be forgotten.
I knew Mike for many years. He was the first Industrial Hygienist that I had ever met. Prior to that, I didn’t even know there was such a profession. He made sure that I was properly educated on the importance of IH in the workplace. (Smiling) We became very good friends, which lasted for 30 plus years. He was like a four leaf clover. “Hard to find and lucky to have”. He will be greatly missed, thought about often and never forgotten.
If there is a golf course in Heaven, Mike will be there with a smile on his face. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Sending to Caitlin and Cory how whenever I spoke to your dad he was so very proud of your accomplishments. He had beautiful spirit and smiling eyes. I will miss him and chatting to catch up all the beauty he experienced everywhere he laid his hat. I know how much Calgary meant to both Sue and Mike. The mountains, lakes and rivers beauty and majesty of God's Alberta. Stay strong and keep his spirit in your hearts.
Carol Collins ( sister-in-law ) to Mike
A person of “ not so quiet “conviction, compassion and exemplary faith in Jesus. A true “Light” to family and all those who encountered, Michael’s positivity. My brother will continue to inspire each of us who knew him. A living and true son and brother to me.

Mike was a great guy and will be sorely missed. Over the years Mike went from being a friend to a brother-in-law to a chemo buddy. We have many happy memories of Mike over the years. His grin was always present as was his sense of humour. A devoted husband, father and friend. Rest in peace my friend.
Mike was an awesome guy, a good friend & great Dad. I have such wonderful memories of the times you spent with us in Ontario (picnics, beach days & Christmases) and fun times in Chicago-land (Brookfield Zoo expeditions & giant traffic-stopping dinosaurs). Know that our hearts are breaking too and that we so wish that we could be with you all right now. Sending love, gentle hugs, strength & of course, our heartfelt sympathies. Jen, Pip, Kait & Dom Audette
