I have many wonderful childhood memories of our annual trips to Canada to visit family and still more memories as I continued that ritual as an adult with my own kids. Although we visited many places during our trip, our stays at the A.J. Blayney house on Lewis Drive were always special largely due to our Aunt Jean. Her home was like a museum, filled with the souvenirs and artifacts she had collected during her many trips to every part of the world. A special word of caution to my daughters was always provided prior to our entry, "Don't touch anything!" Jean was always so concerned about our being entertained while visiting with her. So many trips to Heritage Park, the Calgary Zoo and Calaway Park. She was the perfect host, wonderful meals, always interested in what was happening in our lives. My much too rare phone calls to her were always greeted with excitement and enthusiasm as she inquired how every member of our family were doing. I feel very blessed to have been able to speak with her on the phone just a few days before she passed. Her joy and kindness will live on in our memories which we will treasure forever. We love you Auntie Jean!
