Obituary of Ella Eileen Gething

March 10, 1928 – Winnipeg, Manitoba 

December 4, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta 

Ella Gething, beloved wife of Alfred (Al) Gething, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the age of 93 years.

Ella was born in Winnipeg, MB, on March 10, 1928. It was here that she met and married Al in 1951. After several moves, Ella and Al settled in Regina, SK, before moving to Calgary, AB in 1972. As a member of Kinettes and K-40, both in Regina and Calgary, Ella met many life-long friends. She also had a very successful real estate career until she was 80 years old. However, she will be most remembered for her love of family.

Ella enjoyed golf, bridge, and traveling. Ella and Al traveled to Europe several times and made annual trips to Palm Springs in their later years.

Besides her loving husband, Ella is survived by her four daughters, Deb (Wayne) Peterson of Victoria, BC, Pennie (Tyler) Ivanco of Chestermere, AB, Sandie Cheney of Calgary, AB, and Kathie Gellatly of Lethbridge, AB; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her dear son-in-law Don Gellatly.
