Condolences
Changed my life for the better … my pal and guidance councillor at QEHS.
I thoroughly enjoyed two canoe trips (Missouri and Milk Rivers) with Cy (and Joyce) as well as lots of dinners and snacks at the houses and on the decks of their many friends. Cy was a gentle, good humoured man who was a great trip companion and friend. He will be missed but never forgotten. My deepest condolences to you Joyce.

We, George, Lynn, Bill and Ralph Goddard grew up with Cyril as our one and only cousin that we visited frequently and grew up together. We had family visits and special meals at the house in East Calgary where our Grandparents lived as well as Uncle Arthur, Auntie Clare and Cyril. So many good memories. We are really going to miss him as he was always there in our lives. Our Sincerest Sympathy to Joyce and all their extended families. I know they are really going to miss him too!
Hello
Cy and I have two things in common----1) my name is CY 2) I worked with Cy at lord Beaverbrook when he was
Guidance Counsellor Head and I was the Math teacher. At various times our paths would cross. I was sad to hear of his passing.
Cy was a likeable man and possessed a sense of humour. Cy was blessed by God to have lived three score ten plus 10.
THATS another thing we have in common --I have reached that pinnacle as well. What can one say? I can only offer a HOPE
that God (JEHOVAH) has Cy in His memory and knows him well. God will resurrect Cy after Wickedness and crime disappears
on this earth. JOHN 5:28,29 --Jesus said this 2000 years ago. He doesnt lie. If thats the case DEATH is not a period--it is a comma
there is more to come for CY May the family be encouraged by these writings. In the very near future I, too will be like Cy
waiting for the call to get up...........
We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Cy was the most wonderful man and we will miss him deeply! Hugs and prayers. Jeff and Val and family
I am sorry for your loss. I attended Dr. E.P. Scarlet 87-90 while Cy was a guidance counselor there. Cy is considered family to us Shermack’s so although he was not my guidance counselor he always made a point to check in on me and keep me line. He was always there to listen and he never judged me for the silly decisions I made, just offered real world advise. I still to this day, even though I am now 50, tell the story of my cousin Cy dragging me down the school hallway by my ear to keep me from getting in more trouble. Believe me that turned a lot of heads in high school considering I was not a small boy. Cy was a good man and I’m sure will be missed by many
Doug Shermack
Cy will always be in our hearts and our memories.
