Ottavio Misuraca of Calgary, AB passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the age of 92 years.

Ottavio was born in Aprigliano Vico, Cosenza, Italy on December 2, 1929. He immigrated to Calgary in 1963. Ottavio was a hardworking, dedicated family man.  He spent forty-plus years of his life proudly working as a cement finisher in the construction industry. Ottavio accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ottavio enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, and travelling.

Ottavio is survived by his three sons and one daughter-in-law, Graziano and Ernestina, Antonio, and Carmelo; six grandchildren, Angela, Ottavio, Graziano, Delano, Carmelo, and Serena; and two great-grandchildren, Bennett, and Brielle.

Ottavio is also survived by his three brothers, Antonio, Francesco, and Ercole; one sister Maria, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law's, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ottavio was predeceased by his wife of over forty years, Angelina.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel Of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Prayers will commence at 7:00 p.m. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral mass for immediate family only will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW, Calgary, AB). Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
