Obituary of Alex Crowchild

September 1, 1990 - December 4, 2021

Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, father, brother, and uncle Alexander “Alex” Collin Hawk Crowchild. He passed Saturday December 4, 2021, at the age of 31.

Alexander was a loving father who found joy in the service to others in whatever form that took. He worked hard and without complaint and was always the first to show in a crisis. He was immensely creative with his artwork, journaling, and poetry. Though his passions were many he adored a good round of golf. He loved deeply, without judgement and found humour in every situation. Above all, through his compassion and generosity did what he could for those in need. For all this, and more, he will be sorely missed.

Alex is survived by his mother Mary Crowchild, his children Kendall and Alexander Jr Crowchild, his brothers and sisters Martin Blackrider, Tricia Crowchild, Luciann Crazyboy (Shawn), Mark Crowchild (Bhey), Irene Blackrider, Leon Crowchild, Aaron Crowchild and special siblings Larissa (Lois) and Benjamin Crowchild, his Grandmother Carolyn Murray, Uncle Vincent Murray (Roselyn), first cousins Kent and Brayden, Great Uncle Charlie Carroll (Tracy), Janice Carroll, cousins Jennifer and Christopher Carroll, and numerous extended family.

Alex is predeceased by his father Bradley Crowchild, his brothers Derek and Joseph Blackrider, his sister Bernadine Crowchild, his paternal grandparents Isaac and Edith Crowchild, maternal grandfather Norman Murray, his nieces Pheonix, Jacinda, Kurdistan, Lee-anne Olivia Crowchild; his uncle Elliot Crowchild and his cousins Colin Jensen, Jacqueline Crowchild, Kerry and Isaac Crowchild, Thuyna Crowchild, Shane Crowchild, Katie Crowchild, and numerous extended family.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Alex Crowchild at 90 Many Horses Road, Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be celebrated at Bullhead Hall in Tsuut’ina, AB, on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuut’ina Cemetery (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB).
