Condolences
Wendy, Sean Paul & family,
I was very sorry to learn of Don’s passing. I have fond memories of our PR careers, our friendship and professional connections as they intertwined in numerous companies where we collaborated, communicated, and consulted with many of the country’s leading clients.
Don’s dedication to the PR profession led me into many CPRS activities. He was a superb connector of people and a consultant clients enjoyed working with. We so often shared our wins and losses of new business and new challenges but always with a wry sense of humor.
Please accept my condolences as I remember his professional accomplishments and our friendship over many years.

The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Calgary is deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Don Boynton, APR, LM, a long-time member and former President of CPRS Calgary.
Don was a long-term, active, and very engaged member of CPRS for multiple decades and contributed so much to CPRS locally and nationally. In addition to being a former President of CPRS Calgary and on the local society Board, Don served with dedication on numerous national councils, committees, and task forces, including the National Council on Accreditation. For his many contributions, Don was recognized by CPRS as a Life Member.
CPRS Calgary is making a donation to the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank Society in memory of Don. Our condolences to Wendy, Sean-Paul, and the entire Boynton family.
I got to know Don during the eighties when we both were active members of the Canadian Public Relations Society. I remember him as a likeable guy who was not only excellent at his craft but I remember him also as sincere and as a PR professional, he was a man with integrity.
He was a great help to me when, as members of the Calgary chapter of C.P.R.S., we organized a national conference. His hard work and pleasant personality certainly contributed to the enormous success we had with that conference.
I left Calgary in 1985 to sail into my European semi retirement and moved back a few years later to Canada's West Coast. It wasn't until 2018 when I re-acquainted myself with the old p.r. gang. I very much enjoyed their typical western hospitality, which included a fantastic Alberta beef dinner hosted by Jim and Lorraine Rennie. They shared with me stories of fun times and friendships which I had sadly missed. But I enjoyed them nonetheless, and they made me feel so welcome.
Don and I also indulged in enjoyable recollections about past events. He told me about his love for the outdoors and his beloved Qualicum beach family holidays.
Like me, this is an area of Vancouver Island where he truly felt at home and I would have loved to have had another chance to reminisce, this time to join him around a campfire and a few beers. I live close by, in Nanaimo which proves you should always do the things you mean to do, and not wait for tomorrow because tomorrow may be too late and it will kick you in the rear end!
Don was a PR consultant, bar none. He was down to earth, and I will truly miss him.

Sheryl and I are so saddened and shocked to hear about this. Don was Sherry’s client with AB Tourism and I interacted with Don over several years through our communications work. He was an extremely kind man to both of us. I loved chatting with him. Love to Don’s family.
I met Don as he was finishing his PR degree.
I was so impressed with Don and his poise, personality, and potential that I convinced the head of our Toronto office to let Don intern with us, which led to a multi-city career with PIR, Canada’s largest PR firm at the time.
That started a years-long bond of personal and professional friendship.
My wife, Gail Harcourt, also worked with Don.
We had huge respect for his thinking, tenacity, dependability, honesty, and passion for his family and work.
We grieve with Wendy and Sean-Paul.

For several years I'd serve with Don as accreditation examiners for the Canadian Public Relations Society. I always looked forward to his knowledge, professionalism, and -- most of all -- his wit. He was a credit to the profession, and a fine man. My sincere condolences to his family.
Wendy and Sean and families, .
The stories of our lives are written moment to moment in how we loved, in the day to day things we've shared, and in the many ways we've touched each other's hearts. May the memories you hold in your hearts bring you peace and healing to your soul.
We will remember family gatherings over the years , his warmth, friendly huge smile , love of life and always interesting conversations.

Don was an outstanding professional and an exceptional individual. I am shocked and so very sad for Wendy and Sean-Paul. Don's passing at such an early age is a huge loss to the public relations fraternity across this great country he loved so much.
I knew Don for many years in the communications and tourism worlds we shared. Don always managed to make me laugh with a story or a comment and THAT I will fondly remember. It was a gift. Don towered over me (5 foot tall Trish) but he always would take the time to really chat one on one and share. God bless him.
Fondly, Trish Exton-Parder
