Obituary of Alan Duane Clarke

November 16, 1953 – Ndola, Zambia

December 12, 2021 - Airdrie, Alberta

 

Duane Clarke of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the age of 68 years.

 

Duane was born in Ndola, Zambia on November 16, 1953. He moved to England in 1965 and     then immigrated to Canada in 1988. Duane attended at the Brighton Technical College and graduated as a Master Automotive Technician. Duane was awarded a certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics from the City and Guilds of London Institute, followed by many other awards and certificates. Duane married Linda Brownlee on December 14, 1974.

 

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a foster parent for seventeen years with Linda. He coached soccer and taught adult mechanical education. Duane accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his beautiful wife Lindy, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.

 

Duane enjoyed European Football, anything to do with cars and being surrounded by his family and friends. He also loved listening to Motown and reading his scriptures. He will be most remembered for his smile, positivity and warming heart.

 

In addition to his loving wife Linda of 49 years, Duane is survived by his brother Gary, his four children Samantha, Jared, Leoma and Laura; eleven grandchildren; and his great-grandson 'Little Boh'.

 

Duane is also survived by his three sons-in-law, his daughter-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

A Private Graveside Service will take place at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here.
