Condolences
Dear Jose, Bernie and I are so sad to hear of Steve’s passing. Bernie just thought of Steve today and then found this news on line. We know you and Steve were an awesome couple who made a wonderful family and life together. We will be thinking of you and your kids during this difficult time. Bernie and Sharon Reid
Dear Josee and family,
Please accept my apology for my delayed condolences, as I just learned of Steve's passing. I was unaware he was ill and I’m terribly saddened to hear of his untimely passing. I had the pleasure of working with Steve at CP as well as across the table in negotiations. His knowledge and friendship will be missed.
My deepest sympathy's to you and your family.

Dear Josee and family - you have been blessed with a great loving husband and father - what great memories you will cherish - sending you my love
My dear Josee, you and i reconnected in 2021 after many, many years apart. I wish I had been able to have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Steve. I am heart broken for you and your family. Having lost many family and friends over the years I am well aware of your sadness. From all of the amazing condolences I know you are surrounded by many who love you and your family very much. You are and always will be my friend, I am sending you lots of prayers and hugs.
I was one of the many that had the privilege of working with Steve.
A gentleman. A problem solver. Loved and respected by so many.
Few can leave such an epitaph..
My heart goes out to all his family.
Steve was a good guy and a true professional. I had the opportunity to work with Steve at CP for many years, as well as when Steve worked with FMCS as a Conciliator. Steve always took a pragmatic and reasoned approach and brought a sense of humour as well. He will be missed by all. Certainly, the labour relations world was better for having had Steve among us. Rest in peace.
Josée, Brian, Michelle et Rob, mes sincères condoléances de la part de mes enfants, mon conjoint et moi. Mes pensées sont avec vous. ❤️

Dearest Josée, Brian, Michelle and Rob,
As the little poem I sent to Josée a few days ago said, it’s okay not to be merry and bright, although maybe Steve would like us to be. But our hearts are broken, we can’t quite believe this has happened, and right now we need to grieve. Fortunately Steve has left each and every one of us memories that will help us move on and find comfort in remembering happier times, times driving through the breathtaking Rockies, times watching him cook up a stir fry, times walking with his beautiful dogs, times when he gave me golfing tips … thanks Steve for those memories, for being who you were. We miss you but are comforted to know that you are at peace.
Love, Sue
RIP Steve.

Dear Josee, Brian, Michelle & Rob:
I am so very sorry for your loss! You were all so fortunate to have had such a truly good man in your lives. I always admired what an incredible father, husband and pet dad Steve was. Otto & Gigi were the luckiest dog & cat on the planet. He will be deeply missed. I know that Steve's passing has left a huge hole in all your lives ..... my heart goes out to all of you! Thinking of you and hoping time will ease your grief & happy memories will comfort you.

We are still is shock by Steve’s sudden passing. A good friend and colleague, Steve will be greatly missed. Over the past 10 plus years, we shared many experiences/opinions on files, travel, golf, politics and other things. Steve was always willing to help, share his knowledge/advice and voice his opinion, all of which I always appreciated. I recall I was scheduled to go up north and Steve suggested I had better be prepared. He had just returned from Cambridge Bay, Nunavut where it had been -62 degrees, so cold he couldn’t keep his cigarette lit. I think that was around the time we both went out and purchased Canada Goose Parkas. Very good advice indeed. Josee, Michelle and Brian, we are so sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Whenever you met Steve you always came away with more insight and learning. He was a great negotiator and knew how to knit an agreement together. Sincerest condolences to his friends and family.
