Obituary of Ana Constantino Legaspi

Ana Constantino Legaspi of Calgary, AB joined her husband, Gregorio Legaspi Jr, with our Almighty Father on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

Ana lived a beautiful life filled with faith and family. She was born in Manila and was a devout Catholic. She grew up during the challenging World War II era in the Philippines. She was a head-strong determined child, the eldest of 11 siblings; harnessing her strong fighting spirit but with a kind heart.

She married Gregorio, her childhood sweetheart at Quiapo Church in 1950 and their marriage lasted for 67 years until Gregorio’s passing in 2017. They raised six children, Chris, Bert, Greg, Alex, Dessie, and Ferdie. In 1979, they immigrated to Canada to join the rest of their family in North America. In Calgary, Ana worked at the Foothills Medical Centre for 12 years, fulfilling her dreams of working in the pharmacy field.

Ana loved to cook for her growing family of eighteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She warmed the family with countless meals of mechado, menudo morcon, sopas, ube dessert, leche flan and of course her husband’s favorite, dried tapa. Mama Annie loved listening to the Platters, “Only You”, as well as Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, and other “Goldies.”
