Obituary of Sidney Robert Rudman

March 24, 1928 - East York, Ontario

December 14, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Sidney Rudman, beloved husband of Phyllis Rudman of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

Sidney was born in East York, ON on March 24, 1928.

Sidney had all the time in the world for his family and friends. He believed in the power of kindness and hard work that shined through a delightful dry wit. He was a proud man who inspired the best out of everyone.

Sid was an active member of the Calgary ‘88 Olympic Volunteer team and continued to support many amateur sports afterwards. He also volunteered countless hours at Spruce Meadows.

Sid was an active hockey player well into his 50's. He was a talented artist who created exquisite landscapes with oil paint well into his 80's in addition to sketching and other artwork. During his life he also stayed active through hiking, skiing and many other pursuits.

Besides his loving wife, Sidney is survived by his daughter Laura Ann Schauff; two grandchildren, Jeff Schauff and Meredith Oakley; two great-grandchildren, Elora Schauff and Charlotte Oakley. He is also survived by his sister Grace Holmes. Sidney was predeceased by his parents Clara and George Rudman
