Obituary of Ronald Burton Brown

August 6, 1932 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

December 15, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

The family wish to announce the passing of Ronald “Burt” Brown of Calgary, AB passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

Burt was born on August 6, 1932, in Saskatoon, SK, where he attended Caswell Public School from 1938 to 1946, and City Park Collegiate from 1946 to 1950. When you get up this morning take time to appreciate the wonderful world we have been given, do our best and enjoy.

“I wish to thank you all for the laughter, joy and pleasure you have given me in my lifetime. Until retiring in 1989, he enjoyed thirty-three years working with Petro Canada, Gulf Oil, British American Oil, and Royalite Oil, peddling gasoline clean across Canada.”

Other enjoyable life experiences were listening to music, playing fastball, soccer, golf, and hockey in his youth; organizing and playing Old Timers hockey in retirement years, and his most cherished time was spent with family. He especially loved watching his granddaughters’ dance recitals, basketball tournaments, hockey games, and musical theatre productions.  His girls were his pride and joy. Holidays were spent in Europe, North Africa, The Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, travelling to the U.S., and within Canada for the Old Timers hockey tournaments, which were fun times.

In his words, he left with anticipation for his next experience, but with regret leaves behind his wife Annette; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Daryl Wilson; granddaughters, Renée, Keira, and Monica Wilson; and many close friends and relatives.

Burt was predeceased by his father, Wesley Brown in Saskatoon in 1979 and his mother Catherine Brown in Calgary in 2007.
