Jean “Donna” Upton of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the age of 88 years.

Donna was born in Wapiti, AB, on October 8, 1933. She was the third of five children born to Jack and Sarah Penny. Donna was Trained as a nurse in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Subsequently, she worked as a psych nurse at the Royal Alex in Edmonton. In 1959, she met Charles and they got married; together they lived in Pincher Creek AB, then in Rocky Mountain House, AB, before Charles retired and they moved out to Chilliwack, BC. Donna enjoyed volunteering and did so most of her life. Upon the birth of their first grandchild, they returned to Alberta.

Donna is survived by her daughter Teri (Blaine); son Lawrence (Tanya); and grandsons, Michael, Christopher, David, Matthew, Jordan (Krystle), Taylor and Dakota (Ruth); brother Ken (Florence); her brother-in-law Bud and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Charles; son James; parents, Jack, and Sarah; sisters, Hazel, and Fern; brother Keith.

A visitation will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW Calgary, AB) on Monday, December 27, 2021, starting at 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age.
