Obituary of Marilyn Rose McKnight

May 16, 1943 – Grandview, Manitoba 

December 19, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Marilyn McKnight, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the age of 78 years.

Marilyn moved to Calgary in the 1960’s and resided there for the remainder of her years, enjoying many good memories. She accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her family and friends.  Marilyn was a woman of many talents. She was a long-haul truck driver for years (before women truck drivers were common). She was well respected and gained the praise of her peers. She also enjoyed product demoing where her natural social skills flourished as a social butterfly. Marilyn’s greatest natural gift was her ability to make life-long friends, each of whom she cherished. She often volunteered her time for the Metis Senior’s Association and went to many Metis gatherings.

Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Ted and Ray, both of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the family’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.  Messages of condolence may be left for the family here.
