Obituary of Brennan (Spee) Labelle

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brennan (Spee) Maynard Labelle on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the age of 49 years.

Brennan (Spee) was a humble man with a kind heart. He loved and cared for his family, keeping his kinsmanship for relatives. Spee was raised in Morley, AB. Spee believed in his traditional culture and values. Spee was naturally talented, excelling in hockey and rodeo; he brought home many awards and trophies. His passion was being a cowboy and living that lifestyle; riding boy steer in his early years and on to saddle bronc riding. Spee made friends anywhere he went. His smile, humour, laughter, and all his stories will be greatly missed.

Spee leaves behind his loving mother Madeline Labelle, sister Tiona, brothers, Lonnie (Roland) and Monte (Cheryl), special niece Tierra Kessy (Eli), special nephew Trendon, half-sisters, Kyla (Bobby) and Alanise; half-brothers, Steve and Lyle; aunties, Myra, Muriel, Laura (Louie), Germaine, Pam (Keon), Joylene (Hank), and Bernadine (Miranda); adopted sisters, Verlina and Renetta Rider; adopted brother Thomas Bearspaw, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and friends. We apologize if we have missed anyone. 

Spee was predeceased by his father Lyle Cody Wildman, brothers, Emmett and Cody “Coutts”; adopted brothers and best friends, Orville Poucette, Frank Buffalocalf, Shawn Poucette, Faron Poucette, and Emmet T.; maternal grandparents, Bill McLean and Caroline Wildman; paternal grandparents, Percy and Violet Wildman; great-grandparents, Tatanga Mani, Flora McLean, and Alec and Jesse Labelle; and numerous family. Spee’s brother Ace Labelle passed away on December 26, 2021.

Wake Services will be held at the Residence of Madeline Labelle (Morley, AB) on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at the Bearspaw Youth Centre (Morley, AB) on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearpaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).
