Condolences
Lloyd will surely be missed. When I came to visit we would talk about Canadian politics and he made it so easy to understand. He was a brilliant man that could explain things in an understandable way.
A special memory for me was when I was visiting one time he played music from the Alan Parsons Project which was surprising but very cool because I like them too. I never knew anyone else that liked the band's music.
I admired the way he was organized and researched places he would want to go. I remembered the last time Michelle and Lloyd came to the Seattle area (where I live) and had a list of places they wanted to visit. It was fun because they had places on the list I hadn't been to, so it was a new experience for all of us.
At the end of 2015, early 2016 I was working closely with Lloyd on a new output format for the simulators. He had been very closely involved with the original format and thus was the right person to help me out making sure the new format was properly implemented within the simulator. During that period I got to see up close what a wonderful professional Lloyd was. Disciplined, scientific and a delight to work with. Always supportive and ready to discuss ideas on their merit, not with personal biases.
After the project was successfully completed and implemented in the simulators, I kept going to Lloyd to get his advice on many different subjects ranging from software to dealing with people. It was always good to catch up and have a good discussion.
I'm sure Lloyd will leave a big void and I'm sorry for your loss. He was loved and respected and I'm sure fond of the memories I have of working together.

My condolences to Michele, Amelia and Victor. I knew Lloyd from my time at CMG. I didn't get a chance to work with him directly that often, but he was always one of the best people to go to for STARS related questions. I was always impressed by his work/life/exercise balance and I appreciated his QA mindset. It was important to him to maintain a high quality of the software. Rest in peace Lloyd...
Dear Michele, Amelia, and Victor:
We are deeply sorry for your loss. We will always treasure our fond memories of visiting Alberta in 2016 and being hosted so graciously by Lloyd and Michele. On a delightful day trip to the Drumheller Badlands and the Royal Tyrrell Museum, we went on a hike and marvelled at Lloyd's adventurous spirit. He fearlessly found his own path over impressively steep slopes - while we tried our best to keep up from relative safety below! Lloyd and Michele also gave us a wonderful tour of Calgary, showing us where to get the best views of the city (and the best ice cream). Though we did not know Lloyd for very long, his love of learning, his determination and strong sense of self were clear to us. What is also clear to us is that these traits are shared with our dear friend Amelia. Lloyd's spirit and memory will live on in everyone whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
With much love,
Jasmin & Alysha

So very sorry to hear your of your loss. Lloyd was one of the first people to welcome us to Canada when we moved into his neighbourhood. He was biking with Anelia past our house and stopped to say hello when Megs recognized Amelia from her first days at school. It was always clear that he was a man who loved spending time with his family. We are thinking ou you at this time and sending love.

Dear Michele, Amilia and Victor.
Please accept my warmest condolences; I’m sending thoughts of peace and courage your way.
I was so fortunate to work under Lloyd’s management for several years. Lloyd was an incredible supervisor who treated his staff just like his family members, and his kindness spread to everyone who worked with him.
Lloyd was a good baker, and before every Christmas holiday, he baked cookies with different flavours and colours, then he and Michele packed them beautifully in sparkly wrappers. Imagine coming to the office and a bag of colourful homemade cookies waiting for you on your desk (sweet memories of Lloyd).
Lloyd was not only a great technical supervisor, but he also was a wise life coach to his staff. Our group had several members with young families, and many of us bought our first home while working under his supervision. He walked through this process with everyone patiently, from finding a good location with a good school and all other criteria we should consider for our first home.
Lloyd had a fantastic talent for working with people from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. He loved to know more about cultural events, new Year and celebrations and even searched on the history behind those events. He has always been my role model in working with people from different backgrounds.
Lloyd stayed connected to my family and me as a friend after retirement. My family was impressed with his positivity, strength and kindness. Lloyd demonstrated how mind and spirit could combine to achieve success. Lloyd will forever remain alive in our hearts and memory.

My condolences to Michele, Amelia and Victor.
Lloyd is very special. To me, he is a devoted mentor, an encouraging leader, a cooperative colleague and a warm friend. When I first landed in Calgary back in 2009, he helped me to settle down in many aspects. He taught me techniques to survive/ succeed in the work: both technically and politically. He arranged transportation to the hospital when I was sick. He and I have many technical discussions, his passion and insight inspired me a lot.
Too many wonderful memories to share.
Lloyd and Victor drove me to the Tyrrell Museum when I was alone in Calgary for the first winter.
Lloyd and Michele took me to Johnston Canyon when I was alone in Calgary for the first summer.
Lloyd and Michele invited my family to cirque du soleil when my wife and my son joined me in Calgary.
And he congratulated my new son ...
...
Lloyd told me many times that he would like to retire from CMG with clean conscience. He did it. He transferred his knowedge to everybody around him.
I enjoyed chatting with Lloyd. He is most proud with his family. He loves to talk about his kids' achievements. He told me that he and Michele baked cookies and mailed to Amelia and Victor in 2020's lockdown. He enjoyed playing online game with his kids during separation.
I was so lucky to be one of the guys he shed the light on.
May you rest in peace, Lloyd.

I was fortunate to have worked with Lloyd at CMG and got a chance to see what a great person he was. Lloyd was one of the founding pillars of CMG. He inspired everyone at work and will continue to be a role model for several at CMG, and other industry professionals.
I am so saddened to hear that he is no longer among us. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. He will always be in our thoughts.

My condolences to Michele, Amelia and Victor. Lloyd was one of four siblings who grew on a farm north of Brighton, Ontario. Now there are only three of us. In his younger life, Lloyd exhibited the qualities of kindness and concern for others as well as the signature curiosity and persistence regarding even the smallest question. His family life and career took these characteristics to a high level, to the benefit of those around him. Rest in Peace dear brother.
