Audrey Kennedy of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the age of 100 years.

 

Audrey was born and lived her entire life of 100 years and 8 months in Calgary! She lived independently in her own home until the age of 85, then transitioned to The Manor Village at Signature Park. Once there, she continued to live independently until the age of 98. She was so excited to celebrate her 100th birthday on April 19, 2021, with her family, long-time friend Doug, and her great friends at The Manor. Audrey graduated from the Crescent Heights High School and went on to obtain a degree in Business and Accounting. Audrey enjoyed three long-term jobs in admin and accounting with Marshall Wells, Piggot Pipeline and Silvester Building Supplies from whence she retired in 1986. She was a long-time member of the Executive Women International.

 

Audrey is survived by her sister-in-law Doreen Hammond of Calgary, AB; two nephews, Leigh Hammond of Oliver, BC, and Warren (Karin) Hammond of Wainwright, AB; niece Karen (Cody) Bennett of Cochrane, AB, three great-nieces, Erin, Leah, and April Hammond of Wainwright, AB. Audrey is also survived by her long-time neighbour and great friend Doug Kyle of Calgary, AB, as well as numerous friends.

 

Audrey was predeceased by her mother and father, Ella May (nee Bethune) and Edward Thomas Hammond of Calgary AB; two brothers, William (Bill) and Allen (Al); sister-in-law Norma Hammond; nephew Gary Hammond, and niece Joanne Hammond.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Manor Village at Signature Park for their special care of Audrey over the past 17 years. Audrey so enjoyed the time she spent with the daily “10 o'clock coffee gals” and those she dined with at the Manor.
