Obituary of John Digby Burgess

John Digby Burgess passed away in Calgary, AB, on Thursday, December 30, 2021 after a short illness so bravely borne.

Beloved husband of June for 51 years, John was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He qualified as a doctor at the University of Cape Town in 1968 and moved to South Africa, working as a paediatrician mainly serving the underprivileged in Cape Town for 40 years, followed by six years in Medicine Hat, AB.

Unassuming, a jack of all trades, and the ultimate gentleman, John leaves behind his devastated family: wife June, Gavin and Joanne, Gill and Michael, Paul and Stephanie; and grandchildren, Tim, Julia, Luke, Everly and Adelyn.
