Obituary of Mary Anne Stevens

September 20, 1937 – Morley, Alberta

December 31, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Mary Anne “Bobby” Stevens, was called home by our Creator on Friday, December 31, 2021 at the age of 84 years.

Mary will be remembered for her kind, compassionate, outgoing and giving nature. She received her education at residential school. Mary loved life and she lived to her fullest, she loved her family and relatives, she enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Cooking was one of her many passions in life so whenever she had guests, she loved to cook for them, she was also a fan of Elvis Presley, and she collected a lot of Elvis memorabilia. Mary was a hard worker and she held numerous jobs through out her lifetime, she also kept to her cultural traditional ways, so in the summers she liked camping and berry picking. She also like attending Rodeos, Pow-wows, round dances, and Sundance.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Violet Amos, Madeline Stevens, Helen Chiniquay, and Eva Baptiste; brother Norman Baptiste; adopted son John Hunter; nieces, Charlene, Martina, Carol, Rhonda, Verna, Melrose, Lorraine and Jenard; nephews, Floyd, Elliot (Sabrina), Randall, and Sherman; and special granddaughter Lisa Stephens. Mary also leaves behind to mourn numerous friends and relatives and we apologize if we have missed anyone.  She was predeceased by her sons, Rupert and Kurt; parents, Bella and James Stevens; grandparents, Moses and Mary Bear; brother Stanley Stevens, sisters, Lena Lefthand, Alice Stevens, Christine Stevens, Annie Ear, and Lucy Stevens.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Violet Amos (Morley, AB) on Friday, January 14, 2022.  Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Violet Amos (Morley, AB) on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Mary’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
