Obituary of Isabelle Lorraine Reid

Isabelle “Belle” Reid of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the age of 75 years, surrounded by her loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living our lives to the fullest.

Belle was born in Moose Jaw, SK, on August 24, 1946. She moved to Calgary, AB, when she was in her early twenties. Belle spent the majority of her career working as a housekeeper with AHS and hotel chains. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Belle. Her most precious moments were spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, while drinking her tea. Belle always spoiled her grandchildren with gifts, candy, kisses, hugs, and so much love. Her children were everything to her and she was involved in every aspect of their lives. Belle enjoyed cooking, sharing and handwriting recipe cards. She had a passionate love affair with ice cream, peanut butter cookies, and anything with a sweet taste. She will be most remembered for her generosity, loving nature, kind heart and shiny jewelry.

Belle is survived by her two daughters and one son-in-law Chantel and Greg Dunlop, and Debbie Kiprick of Calgary, AB; one son and daughter-in-law Kelvin and Amber Kiprick of Calgary, AB; ten grandchildren, Ella Dunlop, Anika Dunlop, Jacqueline Kiprick-Olive, Nathanial Kiprick-Corbett, Hunter Kiprick, Aubrey Kiprick, Charley Kiprick, Katharine Kiprick, Scarlett Kiprick, and Axel Kiprick of Calgary, AB; and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Kiprick-Olive, Troy Sharpe, and Remy Sharpe of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her three brothers and one sister-in-law Robert and Deanna Reid of White City, SK, Doug Reid and George Reid of Moose Jaw, SK; and three sisters and one brother-in-law Audrey and Dennis Peachy of Moose Jaw, SK, Merle Suian of Abbotsford, BC, and Elsie Kelme of Penticton, BC; as well as all her nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Belle was predeceased by parents Ruby Violet and Wallace Henry Reid, three brothers Donald Reid, Kenneth Reid, Garry Reid, and two sisters Marylou Debott, and Winnie Trew.

A Celebration of Life and viewing will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the funeral home. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Reid’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
