Obituary of Michael Paul Robar

July 23, 1962 - January 2, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Robar announces that he passed away at home on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, at the age of 59 years.

Michael was born July 23rd, 1962 in Bridgewater. Michael (Mike, Mikey) was a fisherman for years working out of Lunenburg, NS. In his earlier years he really enjoyed golfing and has always been a huge fan of WWE wrestling. Later in his life he enjoyed collecting Hockey Cards, especially the Tim Horton’s collections and memorabilia. He had a display that would impress many.

Mike was a loving, caring and proud father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered for his charm, wit and huge heart.

Michael is survived by his children; daughter Courtney (Rodney) Bruhm of Baker Settlement, sons Joshua (Serena) Robar of Calgary and Matthew Robar of Blockhouse and the mother of their children, his ex-wife Christina Poole Robar of Blockhouse; sisters Cathy Rafferty and  Vicki (Larry) Veinot of Calgary; brother Ricky (Donna) Arenburg of  Calgary; grandsons, Aidan and Erik Bruhm of Baker Settlement; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was predeceased by his mother Georgina Arenburg and stepfather Russell Dorey; father Ira Robar; his sister Sharon (Mellie) Robar, and niece Amanda Robar.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal funeral service. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
