Condolences
The team at SmartSource had the pleasure of working with Robert through his position at Hexagon. We truly appreciated his leadership, sense of humor, and attitude. He was always smiling and enjoying the people he interacted with. He made us feel like part of the Hexagon family. He will truly be missed. Condolences to Robert's family and all who loved and were influenced by him.
There are people who come into your life that make a lasting impact and become woven into your tapestry of memories. Some bring joy and laughter to everyone around them, and this is you dear Robert. You were an encourager, a mentor, a colleague, and I proudly call you my friend. While I had known you for many years, we started our real work together in 2015 which included our first run of HxGN LIVE with the IT team. Everyone on our HxGN LIVE IT team enjoyed spending time with you. You never had to be the most important person in the room and could relate to anyone. You had a way of making those around you feel special.
You inspired and encouraged me through so many things including losses in my own family. Without hesitation, you ran IT for the Hong Kong show for me so I could spend time with my Mom in Hospice and my sister who had just become ill and passed shortly after. You gave me an invaluable gift of time with my loved ones for which I am forever grateful.
Your regular trips to Huntsville were always great fun and so many people looked forward to you popping by their desk to say "Hello". From the "missing keys", the crazy cab rides, the infamous linen jacket incident, to the dinners and laughs at Connors, every visit we had was unforgettable. Over the past week I have created a list of those precious memories as I don't want to forget a single one. While those trips were greatly missed during the pandemic, we were able to keep up our regular chats and for that I am forever thankful. I hope to carry on the work we started in a way that would make you proud.
The quote below you said was "borrowed" from a movie and you would always say it to me when things were difficult.
"It will be alright in the end and if it's not alright, it's not the end"
It's clearly not the end as things are not "alright" so your light, laughter and memories will carry all of us through until we meet again on the next great adventure.
Natalia, my thoughts, love and sincere condolences to you and the entire family.
We offer our my deepest condolences to Robert's family We pray that God will bless Robert's family with His grace to help get through this difficult time. We pray that God will welcome Robert into His heavenly kingdom. Robert Ashe was a good man, may he rest in peace.

I began working with Robert when he first arrived in Canada many years ago. Our relationship quickly developed into a great friendship that has only grown over the past 23+ years. We shared many stories over the years and I learned so much from him, both in business, and in life. He was the one person that I could always count on for sound advice when I needed it, and I hope he was able to get the same from me. I always looked forward to our weekly catch ups... catching up business, life and world affairs, and I will forever miss them. Robert was a very authentic, caring, thoughtful and loving person. If you had one conversation with him, you would know this.
Robert, thank you for being an amazing friend. I will miss you forever.
To Natalia, and all of his family, I share in your grief. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

The world has lost a truly amazing person. Robert was one of the kindest most authentic people I have ever known and has been a great friend and mentor to me for the last 10 years. I will never forget him and the things he taught me both personal and professional and I will continue to strive to be more like him.
Had a great chance to know Robert as a loving and enjoyable person. His profound sense of tremendous unusual humor, his ability to grasp, express and analyze events will be missed for ever! Not even mentioning his great cooking abilities and hospitality, every time making us enjoy his company and life even more. We are deeply sorry, Natalia, for your loss and we share your grief and sorrow. The pain is huge. We mourn with you and Robert's nearest relatives and friends.

Please accept our deepest condolences.
We knew Robert as a beloved husband of Natalia. What an intelligent and charismatic person he was, with a great sense of humor, courteous and very hospitable, with passion to create and treat family guests with delectable meals always when we were visiting their home.
His death is a grievous loss to people who knew Robert. He will be sorely missed. Mourning his passing with you…

I had the opportunity to work for Robert and Natalia at NovAtel in 2019. He was always very approachable, knowledgeable and helpful. I was impressed with his ability to work on many projects at the same time, pivoting from one to another as if he had nothing else to do. An example of his leadership was being very well informed about national and international cyber security requirements, largely through self-education, and having pragmatic plans to address any gaps in the organization. He and Natalia were a high performing couple. I was fortunate to keep in touch with them after the project I was on ended and enjoyed generous hospitability at their home in Calgary. A visit always started with a nice gin’n’tonic. Robert was a good storyteller and a great chef. His work was very important to him but he was humble about his achievements. During the COVID-19 pandemic these past two years, he missed travelling and especially visiting his Mum in England. I am so sorry to hear about his rapid decline this past month, and wish Natalia and all his family members strength during this difficult time.
With love, Fiona
Saddened to hear the news.

I had the pleasure of meeting Robert a number of years ago when he joined NovAtel. Robert made a lot of positive changes in our organization and did a lot of hard work in the background. On a personal level, I always enjoyed just talking to Robert and his great sense of humour. In a meeting, he had the ability to patiently sit there waiting to express his opinion, and then come out with some remark that would just crack me up. No one else I have known had that dry wit and unique outlook.
I will miss Robert very much and am so sorry for your deep loss. We all share in your grief, and hope that your memories will sustain you at this time. Sincere condolences, Ellen McKay

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Natalia and all of Robert’s family. I had the pleasure of working closely with Robert for more than 10 years at NovAtel-Hexagon. It was wonderful to see the progress the whole team made under his leadership. Robert was one of the most approachable people I have ever worked with. You could tell that he took great pleasure in helping everyone in any way he could – he was a role model.

Heartfelt condolences
My heart goes out to all of Robert‘s family. Robert has always supported me throughout my career from the day he started at Intergraph. He will be missed!
From my first day with NovAtel, Robert was always very supportive and helpful. He had a wealth of knowledge and experience and never hesitated to share. I very much appreciated him as a collogue and will miss him deeply.
Every time during my visit to Calgary from Hyderabad, i used to meet Robert. He was such a calm, cool and focused person. Very sorry to miss him. My condolences to his family. We all miss you Rob
Robert was always open and always helpful. He was able to make people around him very comfortable and believed in finding solutions in a collaborative manner - one of the nicest soul that I have interacted with. May God give his family members, the strength to go through this. I will always have a cherished memory of him.
It was a shock when I read the email Robert. I only worked very briefly with you but was deeply touched by the support you have provided. Being a CIO /director you always had time for everybody and everything, I often wondered how could you manage that. I am glad I have known you. My deepest condolences to your grieving family for the immeasurable loss. May god give the strength to go through this.
My dear Robert,
To say I am shocked is an understatement. From Calgary to Huntsville and around the world, you were always my rock with IT and general business system discussions, Ingr and Hex. You helped me through a lot on the biz front (we have been through a lot) but always kept it about our personal well-being in the end. Your IT team always appreciated that from the bottom to the top. I always loved that. I will now in memory cherish the 305 pass by desk talks Love forever BH See you again. Hugs and Kisses!!!!
Dear Ashe Family,
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Robert's passing. My thoughts, condolences and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Robert was an exemplary and humble I.T. leader. He always treated me with professionalism, respect, and consideration. I will miss the the coffee chats we used to have every so often. May you receive grace and peace through this time of mourning.

I am so very sorry to hear of Robert’s passing. Prior to my retirement, Robert and I worked together at NovAtel/Hexagon for close to ten years. During this time I was very thankful to have Robert manage some enormous projects to transition us to robust and up to date IT systems and processes. He had an incredible ability to plan and implement massive changes to systems without disrupting the underlying businesses that relied on these systems. He will no doubt be missed enormously by all the people with whom he worked.
My sincere condolences to his mother, Alice, spouse Natalia and sons Robert and Ryan.

I got to know Robert while routinely running into him really early in the mornings when grabbing our coffee/tea on the third floor kitchen. He was really nice and friendly and I always enjoyed our conversations. He will be missed.
My sincere sympathies to Natalia and his family,
Isabelle
I was very sad to hear of Robert's passing. He was definitely "one of the good guys"! Always so approachable and easy to talk to. He will be missed dearly by so many. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.
I was fortunate enough to report to Robert between 2017 and 2020. Despite the challenges with time zone, we had a strong remote working relationship and I was lucky enough to meet up with Robert in person in the UK and Calgary on several occassisons. Robert would always make time to listen/discuss and he would always deliver on his commitments to me. He went out of his way to make me feel welcome when visiting Calgary. He will be greatly missed.
Condolences to Natalia, the Ashe Family and all other loved ones. Stay strong!

We share your grief at this difficult time with deep sympathy and condolences. It’s hard to believe that Robert is not with us anymore. We will always remember our chats at work and over fancy meals he used to cook. May the love of those around you – your family and friends help you through the days ahead. Our deepest sympathies.
Anastasia, Martin and Anfisa
When Robert joined NovAtel in 2010, he brought our IT department to a new level. Without his guidance and vision we wouldn't have the state of the art infrastructure and cyber security performance we have today. Robert helped NovAtel and later Hexagon A&P to reach new heights. His progression to CIO for all of Hexagon was well deserved.
We as a company and me personally will always miss Robert.
My sincere condolences to his loved ones.

To the Ashe family
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Robert Ashe. I had the great pleasure of working with Robert at Intergraph Canada and I very much enjoyed wandering down to his office to get caught up with the latest changes in technology and of course to have a few laughs. In my 45 years of working in the Information Technology field I have never come across a better I.T. leader. Never. He was also a very good person.
My deepest sympathy,
Jim Wickson, Calgary Alberta
