Obituary of Paul Ralph Ronald Stanmore

December 26, 1942 – Toronto, Ontario

January 8, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great love and sadness that the family and friends of Paul Stanmore, of Calgary, AB, announce his passing on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the age of 79 years.

Paul leaves behind many friends and family; his daughter Darlene Price, and his grandson, Kyle Price, both of Fredericton, NB; his extended family Loranne Kelly and Stephanie Senakovicz, both of Calgary, AB, and his good friends from his favourite pastime of pool. He was predeceased by his parents Hilda and Ralph Stanmore. 

Paul was born in Toronto, ON, and moved out west as an adult where he lived in Alberta and BC, finally settling in Calgary.  Some of the best memories for Paul were his vacations to Cuba, Banff, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Kelowna, Halifax, and many trips to the West Coast. He loved animals and was always happy seeing them in the wild or being greeted by a dog in his community. Paul loved great food: steak, fish and chips, ice cream, and fresh berries were his favourites.  He shared many great meals with his friends and his extended family.

Paul was gregarious, a social diplomat, a taxi driver, a fisherman and the ultimate salesperson – with a friendly smile, the occasional joke and always an amusing tale to tell. He was a kind man, one who was always up for sharing stories and experiences and helping his friends. As an active member of the social group at Grace Gardens, Paul brought a special humour and lightheartedness to the pool night gatherings. 

Heaven has gained one more angel and we know that Paul is reunited with his family and friends. He is winning at the pool table, playing with dogs, and barbequing steaks for everyone.

A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held at later date.
