Obituary of Patricia Susan Lund

April 2, 1958 – Bassano, Alberta
January 12, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Patricia Susan Lund, beloved wife of Roderick (Rod) Mackay of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the age of 63 years.

Patricia was born in Bassano, AB on April 2, 1958. She graduated from Hanna High School. She worked with AGT in Edmonton, AB, and then with the Calgary Police Service in the Identification Section from 1988 until she retired in 2020. She then returned to work on call in the Identification Section in early 2021. Patricia was a member of Job’s Daughters. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and playing the piano. Patricia was particularly proud of obtaining her Royal Conservatory of Music degree. She had a passion for cooking for friends and family. 

Besides her loving husband of twenty-six years, Rod, Patricia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Siemens and Adam Vase of Victoria, BC; Rod’s son, Ryan Mackay; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan and Rhonda Lund, Jeff and Maria Lund; and her pet dog Bella as well as in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Lila Louise Benjamin and Frank Lund; mother-in-law, Judy Parkes-Buchanan and father-in-law Bryan Mackay.
    
A Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age. 

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Lund’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
