McKAY, Janis Marion Ruthven

October 17,1926 – January 12, 2022

Janis McKay of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 95 years.

Janis was born in Saskatchewan to parents, Norman and Mildred Foster and raised in Travers Alberta.

Janis married Douglas Vernon McKay in 1948 in Calgary, AB. 

Janis had a lengthy career with TD Bank and was an active volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Widows Association, both in Calgary, AB. She enjoyed travelling, especially going on cruises. 

Janis is survived by her sons Cam (Donna) and Scott (Alba); daughter Jan (Mike); four grandchildren, Krista, Meghan, Douglas, and Daniel; and three great grandchildren, Harper, Elly, and Lincoln.

Janis was predeceased by her husband, parents, and her three sisters.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
