Condolences
Condolences to the family and especially Margaret. I got to know Imre through many years at the Pioneer Nooners Toastmaster's club in Calgary and have a vivid recollection of his impassioned speech regarding his participation in the Hungarian student uprising in 1956, his escape to Canada and meeting his wife. Imre had a remarkable career and indeed a role model. we were fortunate to know him.

I met Imre when he first began working for my dad at Texaco Canada. My dad always spoke highly of Imre’s abilities and professionalism and Imre always expressed appreciation for being given that first chance to work in his chosen field. I recognized in Imre a genuine warm, friendly and intelligent personality. This initial impression was reinforced over the years when I would run into him at the Glencoe Club and we would always have a friendly and, for me, an often educational exchange on a wide range of common interests.
Our condolences to Monica, Margaret, Vince, Emery, Andrea, and family. We had the privilege of meeting Imre and hearing some of the marvellous stories of his full life.

So sad to see the news of Imre’s (Emery‘s) passing. My sincere condolences to the entire Varga family. Imre was always a true gentleman, both on and off the badminton court!
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. It was apparent from the obituary that your dad made a positive impact on many people, and looked to give back to others. What a wonderful example of a man, husband, father he was.

I was saddened to read of Imre's passing. I worked with Imre for a number of years at, what was then, The Energy Resources Conservation Board. He was a kind man and always generous with his knowledge and help. Every Christmas I got a lovely bottle of Hungarian white wine. My sincere condolences go out to his family.
Lots of love to everyone,
Valerie Vogt
