Sincere condolences from Valerie and Randy McGill upon Alex's passing. He was a dear friend and team-mate, Anyone that knew him gained insight to how a life should be lived, he enjoyed every moment and experience. His thirty-year battle with Parkinson's adds testament to his character and commitment to enjoy life.
He will be missed but not forgotten
Cheers

Dearest Terri, Kyla, Colin, Les, Jacob, Oliver & Callista,
I had the honour of being Alex’s physiotherapist. Seeing his name on my schedule always made my day. I would error on the side of caution when treating Alex as he would never ever complain of pain and worked harder in rehab than most. He was happiest when I would suspend him in my Redcord system which allowed him to move his limbs effortlessly. It was movement he loved most and his smile would remain leaving treatment looking taller then when he came in. He indeed was a very special man, one that will always carry a special place in my heart. My sincere condolences to you all. May your memories be everlasting.
Sincerely,
Ursula Paikos
Dear Terri,
I was so saddened to hear that Alex had passed. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to you and your family. Terri, your amazing support of Alex over the years was beautiful to see and try to take some comfort in knowing that he knew how deeply loved he was. I will dearly miss seeing you at the Col Belcher. It always brightened my day when I saw you sitting with Alex by the front the door. The kindness you extended to my dad also will never be forgotten.
Wishing you comfort and peace.

Dear Aunt Terri, Kyla, Colin and Family,
With heartfelt condolences. I share in your sadness.
Uncle Alex was an exceptional person. I have never met anyone with a heart as big as my Uncle's.
I have very fond memories visiting my Uncle Alex in Calgary. Sightseeing and exploring by day, and then in the evenings, sharing wonderful dinners with my Aunt Terri, Kyla and Colin. The best was sharing my Uncle's love of sports, ending the evenings, sitting on the couch watching basketball or Football or both, with a huge bowl of ice cream on our laps! The best of times.
My uncle Alex has taught me the importance of family and to be there for one another. He was always there for me.
Someone so special can never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

Deepest Condolences, Terri, Kayla, Colin and Family.
I met Al first when I became AP in Calgary Catholic. I asked anyone who might know Al, what my new Principal was like. The responses were universally similar. “Lucky you!” Al is such a nice man.” And they were universally so genuine.
And I soon came to know the inclusive nature and the depth of what was conveyed in that simple statement. It was the highest compliment. Oh that we could all fashion ourselves similarly. God Bless you again, Al, ..and your family too. Peace!
Al was a "prince of a gentleman"
.although he left some squash ball dimples on my "behind". We had so much fun, competition and great friendship. .My sympathy and condolences to Terri and family.
Terry, Kyla, Colin and family. I fondly remember Alex and his kind and gentle nature. I know how much you will all miss him as he was such a special person. Sending you my love and prayers. Marni Harrigan
Al Macaulay was a gentleman
I very much liked working with Al
He was my VP at ST. Anne’s in my first year of teaching for CSSD in 1975
I laughed one time I phoned him and the secretary patched me through to his office
and told him that is what Terry on the line
Al’s wife name was of course Terri as well
So he answered the call with Hi Dear
I responded Hi Sweetheart
May he rest in Peace
