Obituary of Agnes Rosas Reyes SARDIÑAS

Agnes Guadalupe Rosas Reyes Sardiñas passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the age of 74, after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She is deeply missed by her dear son Jesse (Rebecca); her sisters Edna (Danny) Batuyong, Nel (Tom) Matys and Joy (Manny) Antolin; and numerous relatives and friends in Calgary and the Philippines.

She was predeceased and now reunited with the love of her life, Adriano Domingo Sardiñas, her husband of 30 years; her parents Jesus "Jess" Avenir Reyes and Corazon Milagros Rosas Reyes; and sister Cynthia Carmen Rosas Reyes.

Agnes was an active member at Saint Mary’s Cathedral and Sacred Heart Church. She took every opportunity to volunteer her time and give back to the community. Her faith in God never wavered, and she was known for her optimism and determination. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Agnes. She found happiness in spending time with her family and friends, valued the convenience of downtown living, and loved entertainment through music and movies. Towards her final years, Agnes moved in with Edna and Danny who helped with her battle. Over the last few years living with her diagnosis, her family bonds grew stronger right up to her last breath. She proved to everyone her strength and amazed everyone she met. She was a true warrior. Agnes is now at peace and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to express our gratitude to everyone who knew and cared for Agnes. We are grateful for the exemplary care given to her by Home Care services and when visiting Tom Baker Cancer Centre; South Health Campus; and during her final weeks, Chinook Hospice.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Funeral Home and Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
