James “Jim” Donald Carder passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the age of 88 years.

 

Jim worked as a lumberjack, helicopter mechanic, and eventually started his own contracting company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, skiing, and making his own wine. Jim served as president of the Thorncliff-Greenview Seniors’ Group and enjoyed playing pool with friends.

 

Jim is survived by his sister Jeannie (Gary) Ellingson, sister-in-law Ida Ball (Gordie Jarrett), six children, Darlene (Dan) Syrotuik, Debbie (Eric) Fechter, Wendy (Bob) Orysiuk, Shelley (Bruce) Jamieson, Susan Dennis, and Tim (Mona) Carder; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and their families in the USA. He was predeceased by his wife Delores, and three siblings, Richard, David, and Kathleen.

 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age.
